Subacute care is provided on an inpatient basis for those individuals needing services that are more intensive than those typically received in skilled nursing facilities but less intensive than acute care. Subacute units tend to be housed in skilled nursing facilities or on skilled nursing units. The facility Maryland Bay Construction fully renovated includes four resident bedrooms, restrooms equipped with ligature resistant plumbing and light fixtures, a medical supply room. Due to the special needs of the residents, we replaced all windows with .5″ polycarbonate and reinforced common area walls with .5″ plywood and beadboard … and applied fire-retardant paint to all wood surfaces.
